School Policy

Refund Policy

  • Cancellation must be made in writing prior to the start of the course.
  • The registration fee is non-refundable.
  • If the cancellation is made twenty-one (21) days before the arrival date at CPILS, a full refund of the tuition and accommodation will be given.
  • If the cancellation is made less than twenty-one (21) days before the arrival date at CPILS, a refund will be given except for the one week’s accommodation fee.
  • If the cancellation is made upon arrival, there will be no refund on the four (4) weeks of tuition and accommodation.
  • If the student arrives after the start of the course or is absent from classes, there will be no refund nor make-up classes for the days missed. Moreover, if the student has not arrived within seven (7) days after the start of the course, the student is eligible for a refund of the tuition and accommodation, but four (4) weeks of tuition and accommodation will be deducted from the total amount of the tuition.
  • If the student has started the course, the student may receive a fifty percent (50%) refund of the tuition and accommodation but must have at least four (4) weeks remaining in the course.
  • All refunds will be processed and disbursed within 60 days.
  • If your placement test has not reached the required entry level, CPILS has the right to place you in another program/curriculum without a refund.

Holidays

During official Philippine holidays, there will be no classes, and some facilities will not be available for use. There is no refund for holidays.

Others

  • You might have to pay an additional fee for institute trips, medical expenses, activities, course changes, room changes, government regulation changes, etc.
  • All guests should meet students in the lobby or in the snack bar. Visitors are not allowed in the dormitory and classrooms. Guest visiting hours are only from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Visitors are given only 30 minutes to stay inside the premises.
  • Quiet hours are every day from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM the next morning. Please be considerate of other students.
  • CPILS will not be liable for any loss of money or property during unauthorized field trips. Owing to a holiday, retirement, or strike from the company, a native speaker teacher may not be available.

Course Extension

You must apply for an extension at least four (4) weeks in advance. The cost must be paid at the time of application for the extension.

Certificate

Students who attend less than 95% of classes, do not take a progress test, or are expelled will not receive a certificate from CPILS.

Dormitory Rules

Dormitory cleaning and bed sheet changes are free of charge once a week. If you want to transfer to another room, fill out the application form. Upgrading your room will incur additional costs. There is no refund if you downgrade. Specified clothes that should not be washed in the washing machine must be hand-washed by the student.

Curfew

Students are prohibited from going out on weekdays. However, students are expected to observe the curfew times on the specified days:

  • Sunday to Thursday: 10:00 PM
  • Friday to Saturday: 12:00 MN

NOTE: If there is a holiday the following day, the curfew time will automatically be 12:00 MN.

Authority and Responsibilities

In cases of business strikes, delayed flights, natural calamities like typhoons, earthquakes, and other circumstances beyond our control, it is understood that CPILS or the agency does not have any responsibility.

CPILS reserves the right to change the fees it charges at any time due to changes in the exchange rate, tax increases, or government regulation changes.

CPILS has the right to change the program, curriculum, and the first day of class at any time whenever necessary.

CPILS has the right to issue warnings or even dismiss students from the school, with no refund provided.

CPILS has the right to change or add rules and must fully notify students of any changes.

If any student holds a gathering to damage CPILS, CPILS has the right to expel the student without warning and claim for damages.

When a student is expelled or requires a refund, CPILS has the right to inform the student’s parents and agent.

Policy Violations and Penalty Points

Students must agree to the following rules and adhere to the penalty provisions in accordance with cumulative penalties. If a student accumulates 10 penalty points, they will be expelled. Upon expulsion, students are required to leave the dormitory immediately, and the school will notify their home and agent of all progress regarding the expulsion. No refund will be provided at the time of expulsion.

Penalty Points

  • Being late to class, Self-Study, or any scheduled place: 1 penalty point. (If you are late more than 10 minutes, it will be regarded as an absence.)
  • Using another language during class time: 1 penalty point.
  • Using electronic equipment during class time (except electronic dictionaries): 1 penalty point.
  • Being absent from class and Self-Study (or any scheduled place): 2 penalty points. (No penalty if there is a doctor or nurse’s note, but attendance percentage will be affected.)
  • Changing rooms without discussion: 2 penalty points.
  • Disturbing the academic atmosphere or other students in the dormitory (e.g., making noise): 3 penalty points. (Using newly set-up beds for incoming students incurs a 500-peso re-set up fee and 3 penalty points.)
  • Cooking inside, or using equipment that can start a large fire: 5 penalty points.
  • Smoking in prohibited areas (school or dormitory): 5 penalty points.
  • Staying out overnight without notice: 5 penalty points. (The same rule applies if the date differs from the written Exit Permit.)
  • Ignoring guards’ and managers’ reasonable orders: 5 penalty points.
  • Trying to bring alcohol or drinks inside: 8 penalty points. IMMEDIATE EXPULSION without warning will be given to students who violate this rule.
  • Manipulating any documents: AUTOMATIC EXPULSION without warning.
  • Visiting the opposite sex’s room: 10 penalty points. (For FAMILY ROOM, no other students are allowed to stay or visit.) IMMEDIATE EXPULSION without warning will be given to students who violate this rule.
  • Using profanity, performing violent behavior, or showing dishonesty towards school staff: IMMEDIATE EXPULSION without warning.
  • Gambling (including going to a casino), theft, violence, or any kind of criminal act: 10 penalty points. IMMEDIATE EXPULSION without warning will be given to students who are caught.
  • Using another student’s ID pass to leave the school premises during school days: 10 penalty points for both the borrower and the owner of the ID pass. IMMEDIATE EXPULSION without warning will be given to students who violate this rule.

Sanctions for Accumulated Penalty Points:

  • 6 points: Prohibition of going out on Fridays.
  • 8 points: Prohibition of going out on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Over 10 points: Expulsion from the academy.
  • Penalty point system applies on National Holidays that fall on Fridays.

Penalty Removal:

  • 10 points: Prohibition of going out will be applied for the remaining period.

The names of students who violate any policies will be posted in the lobby and throughout CPILS.

If a student accumulates 10 penalty points, they will be dismissed from the school immediately. The agency and home will be notified. Additionally, the student must leave immediately without any refund or certificate.
